In paper mode, a model's signals are traded in a simulated portfolio inside QVL. No broker is needed and no real money is used.
In live mode, a model works with your real brokerage account. You must accept the risk disclosure and connect a supported broker, and every live trade still needs your explicit approval before it is sent.
You choose paper or live for each model when you set it up.
